My home pc was once installed a keylogger software by my programmer friend and sure it does collect every single data entered from my keyboard. What’s good with a keylogger is that it allows us to keep track of what is happening on our computers while it runs hidden in the background. While it is used for real time monitoring and continuous tracking of users’ activities on network connected computers, it also remotely records screens of the remote computers, typed keystrokes, visited Internet sites history, used applications, email, and IM chats, etc. A keylogger is also good in keeping informed of your child’s online activity but be very careful of using any computers not your own or outside your home (i.e. internet cafes, etc.) as others may have it installed in their computers as well and your confidential information will be in great risk. Thus, a keylogger is used for recording of everything that is entered from the keyboard.

I also installed keylogger on my laptop when i went for vacation. I know my kids will borrow my laptop in connecting to the internet. So far, though, their surfing habit is wholesome.
In my cafe, i have to make sure nobody can install a keylogger. It is a bane for most cafes, specially the gaming ones, where login theft is common.
To combat keylogger in cafe environment, we use either DeepFreeze or Norton Ghost/backup. But i prefer Deepfreeze.
Thanks..
yeah, u are right, nard. internet cafe operators should carefully monitor this sickening activity of internet/computer info theft — whatever that is! and it’s even more scary if they themselves do it! grrhhh…hehe. but i know some regulations are being followed.
