Development of metal detectors began in 1920’s which is used in pinpointing materials made of metal. These detectors are used in industries like mining and for security purposes in the airports, shopping malls, offices, treasure hunting and in almost all places where there is a need to secure. Metal detectors not only detect weapons such as knives, guns and ammunitions but also react to the security measures applied to the items at the malls to prevent shoplifting and unlikely acts of the same kind. Further developments of the device are done to intensify its detecting capabilities and to make it more accurate.
