Feb. 14 marks a special celebration for all lovers in the whole wide world.  Count me in, I don’t want to be left out ! Growing a little more mature deserves a good break since Valentine’s Day can be more meaningful and objective.  It’s not anymore all about roses, chocolates, card, and cakes.  It’s more like another meaningful year of any couple’s renewal of self-submission and unconditional love for each other.

LOVEFEST according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer is a grand celebration of romantic kissing for the records.  At least 100 couples last Feb. 14 ‘08 simultaneously lock lips during a pre-Valentine’s celebration at the NBC Tent, Taguig City, Philippines as part of the yearly Lovapalooza event, which began in 2004 and has placed the country in the record books for the most number of couples simultaneously kissing.  Aha! Unfortunately, I wasn’t there…hehe.  I can’t tell but I guess there’s no harm in joining.  Whew!

When I was young, I’ve always been so excited about Valentine’s Day for reasons being that I can already dispose of my long-kept poems, love notes and hand-made cards to the intended party, or should I say parties? Pssst…that’s not cool! And more excitingly, it was when I can expected to receive chocolates and movie invites from special someone on that special occasion.  It’s always been a cute feeling worth reminiscing.  After all, those were the memories and would always remain a powerful source of monumental treasures retold many times over.

Yet Valentine’s Day seems to be just another ordinary day for many others.  Some have loved and lost it, well, a popular proverb says that it’s better to have loved and lost than to have not loved at all.  Correct!  No matter how painful the story may be, it’s still correct.  Well, to make the matter more manageable, why not say ‘I remember the boy, but I don’t remember the feelings, anymore.’  You bet it helps even just a little bit. Yet, tomorrow is the perfect time for that grand celebration. Express yourself, show and give love. It’s no time to reminisce old and sad memories guys — just seize the day! I just want to say “Kudos to all lovers. Enjoy the day and have a very enjoyable, memorable one.”
