I really couldn’t stand seeing any live creepy critters (even just a cockroach!) — most especially the deadly ones — in the zoo, museum, or anywhere else. But not Nong Na! This Thai Scorpion Queen, Kanchana Ketkaew, who is also a Guinness World Record holder loves it when she’s around some thousands of huge poisonous scorpions. She set a world record in 2002 after spending 32 days in a closed room with 3,400 live deadly scorpions that earned her instant fame.

This time around (specifically on Dec. 22 ‘08), she attempts to break her own world record at Pattaya’s Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum by stepping into a glass enclosure with some 5,000 adult poisonous scorpions. She planned to stay there for 33 days and 33 nights hoping to clinch another spot in the Guinness Book of World Records breaking her own reign she earlier set. That’s completely unimaginable but true! Sharing her passion for deadly creepy crawlies is the man she married, Thailand’s Centipede King, Bunthawee Siengwong, who also earned his share of record and fame after staying in a glass enclosure with 1,000 centipedes for 28 consecutive days.
