Early Sunday morning trips to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Pathumthani, Thailand is a regular, scheduled routine. It is where I hear mass each Sunday morning and hang on to friends’ company from morning till afternoon, mostly passing the time at the HBO/TV Room, Cafeteria, or swimming pool. The waiting is very long since our tennis games will not start until 4:00 p.m. so what we usually do is pass the time by watching tennis games on tv, playing board games (i.e. scrabble, checkers, chess, chinese bingo), eat, swim, or sleep. Quite a useful routine with the same gang each and every Sunday, but not today!
Despite the N number of times that I had to stop my alarm clock from snoozing (as I usually bargain for another 5-10min. extensionsss!), I readied myself to head off to church (AIT). Oh, boy! Not only my eyes but also my entire body was complaining. As I was deprived of sleep for weeks to months now, my eyes really sore and the eyeballs just wouldn’t stop hurting…”I have to get some more sleep”, I told myself. My body aches like anything, why? Could you imagine how superwoman I was yesterday to have done all the chores I hated the most? I watered all the plants (up and down) mom planted for me while on visit, I did my 2-week overdue laundry, I washed the dishes, and cleaned/changed the water in my 3 aquariums! Oh, la la! I did them all by myself! And do you know how heavy the biggest aquarium was even when empty? Huh, unbelievable! The number of trips I had to make carrying the 3 unclean and cleaned aquariums back and forth, carrying the pails of water here and there, and doing the laundry at the same time are no brainer but they sure made me feel like I’ve just won a very tough grand slam tennis singles match. Award!
Now, I’m sitting here in front of my computer blogging instead of attending the Sunday mass. Anyways, I thank God so much for His constant understanding and everlasting love. I also thank my loved ones for praying for my safety and total happiness (including Good: health, success, money!), too. Although I missed the mass today, I always praise Him for all the good things He has done to me and showered upon me, and for continuing to shower me with more abundant blessings unconditionally. Also, as a love treat for myself, I promise that the moment I click this post “Publish-ed”, I’m going to retire immediately to my long-time-no-see cozy bed to get some more snappy naps, or a deep sleep, better.
I may have my lunch today at AIT still, and play tennis if ever I feel I’ve recovered. I really want to play tennis, so, muscle pains I instruct you, please go away! Tomorrow is again a working day. I’m not excited at all but it’s okay. After all, this is what I call “a wordless and churchless Sunday”. Wordless because I couldn’t hear the word (gospel) of the Lord today. Tsk, tsk.
