Yeah, I’m going back to school but only for some short-term courses. My company has just changed its name — several people came and went, some have gone up to another steps in the corporate ladder, some have moved laterally, and some new work assignments have been announced.

What will keep me a lot busier this year and beyond, apart from the loads of work that got piled up during my month-long absence from work, are these new short courses that I have to take as per company policy.

The Art of Win-Win Negotiation, Change Management, Balanced Scorecard and KPIs, Time Management, Effective Coaching and Monitoring, Management Foundations, First Steps in Marketing and Sales, Essential Project Management, How To Be A Good Team Leader, and ISO 9001:2000. These programmes must be completed within 4 yrs.

Well, it’s very good for me, for all of us. Our company just wants to make sure that we don’t forget all the basics that we’ve already learned, so, a refresher’s programme for each course is a must for us.
