Just a few nights ago, I had a very traumatic experience which I thought was the time we were going to lose our home. It was raining hard with a strong wind. The whole city was blacked-out and it was so dark. In the living room, me, my husband and my kids were gathered. We were singing nursery rhymes and teaching my little boy his ABCs. Just as I was about to go inside our room to check the candles, we heard a loud explosion from the outside followed by the shouting of our neighbor calling and telling us to secure the kids and go outside our house. Neighbor’s tree fell on the electrical wire just beside our baby’s room and it was flaming. That explosion we heard was from the transformer. We started to panic. My husband went out to see where the flame was while I was calling all the kids to stay together in the living and not to go anywhere. I immediately ran to the get my phone and called for anĀ emergency assistance. And in a few minutes, the emergency assistance group from the city’s electric company arrived and we were all relieved.
