We are very much blessed with vast lands. The resources are all in there. If many will cultivate their lands, plant crops and raise animals, then plenty of mouths will be fed. No empty stomachs, no more starvation, no one is homeless and no more poverty.

Admittedly, I had to cancel my trip to Hong Kong due to the swine flu scare. You can’t be too sure about your safety, you know, even if you keep on wearing that mask the whole time. It’s been a threat for many months now and sounds like it’s as serious as SARS and Bird Flu. Yikes! I’m already one a-little-chubby-sexy-lady in my thirties (giggles!) and I’m just scared I’m going to end up pumping in more weight because I couldn’t go out. These fat burners would surely do the job for me, however, I’m so sad I’m going to miss this vacation opportunity. (Note: I’m not really fat, I’m only sacred of this A-H1N1 thing.) So, till then, Hong Kong!

Swine flu has taken its toll and caused massive devastation not only to the health of the people but also to the economy of the affected country. With the swine flu scare, people start to panic, cancel pre-scheduled trips and avoid going to places. This will have effect on our body as well. If we can’t move, travel, or go anywhere then we kind of divert our attention to becoming more passive by just staying home and consuming more foods. One year later…

Nobody wants to be in a deadly, very fatal situation. Of course, not you, me nor them. As much as possible, we try with all our might, to keep away from danger and harm. But no matter how much we strive to be safe, bad or even worse circumstances really happen. We can not discount them because they are inevitable.

The recent ship/vessel that sunk in Romblon is a concrete example of a truly fatal sea disaster. Hundreds of lives were lost, several others are still missing and only a few have survived. Millions of properties were damaged and poses a grave threat to the aquatic resources. What’s more to these damages are the pain and sorrow that the families and loved ones of these victims are suffering of right now. No amount of money or property could replace the lost loved one.

Who should be liable for all of these? Is it the weather bureau for not giving so much precautions? Is it the coast authorities that permitted the ship to travel? Or is it the vessel for sailing despite very bad weather conditions? Well, I do not have an idea because I know for sure nobody wants tragedy. Let’s just blame it on the bad weather.

Sis and I felt somewhat lazy during the last couple of days because we were only stuck in the house, unable to go anywhere, due to heavy rainfall and flooding. It means that we didn’t really have even a single physical activity for days — no tennis, no golf, no swimming. What we could only do is either chat on the net or enjoy karaoke. I could only wish that I also have my own techie game similar to that of my niece’s so I could also play tennis indoor, virtually. I’m jealous! PS3 is pretty much entertaining as well but we’re no PS3 players and so we could hardly enjoy the games in it. Learning them is easy but mastering each game is another story. Well, at least we got something here for the rainy days! C’mon sis, say goodbye to boring days, hello to the new guitar heroes!

I never knew that kids also suffer from urinary tract infection (UTI) — at least not that seriously — until my friend told me about her daughter’s ordeal for 3 years now. We were at the mall for a quick dinner when her daughter excused herself to go to the ladies’ room for the nth time in a row. She would come back each time with big tears in her eyes and cheeks, and it just broke my heart to see her in pain and total dismay about her situation. She said she’s already tired of going in and out of the toilet but it’s more painful if she wouldn’t. Doctors confirmed that kids do have sensitivity and vulnerability to these kinds of diseases as well, not just adults. The immediate regimen is to consume plenty of liquids and observe good hygiene. When UTI strikes, I guess it’s just best to use adult diapers in order to save yourself and your time looking for the next comfort room nearest you — especially when traveling.

My friends and I went to play bowling yesterday right after a heavy meal in an “eat-all-you-can” western restaurant. We manage to complete 5 full games in the hopes of burning the calories that we have just acquired from that huge lunch. Everyone was fully satisfied for paying less for more foods but was so desperately trying hard to burn out the excess baggage that we’ve just put on, in addition to what we’ve already gained, thereafter. That was both a funny and not-funny-at-all experience for all of us! We still feel very full even 8 hours have passed that we were forced to do another 2-hour walking exercise later in the evening. I personally think that the more effective fat burner that will do the job in just a short time is to jog for at least 2 hours every other day for the next 2-3 weeks. I understand that there are a lot of options — jogging is just one of them!

Today’s early morning meeting with the company’s president was more like a brainstorming session than any other informal meetings that we had. Concerned teams exchanged views and stood up to every point that they believed was very critical to them and the operations. Someone landed in a hot water when he raised an issue that was critical of another group’s performance and received tough beatings from the group. I was under pressure, too, and felt a little uneasy while chatting with my boss sitting next to me. Good that our office furniture was cozy enough to accommodate and compensate the uneasy environment I was in this morning.

Kids these days are quite exposed to new technologies and are very keen with computers, electronic gadgets and the internet. They also get involved so much in different school activities and are very active in sports. My niece is one good example. She joined several sporting events such as junior golf, bowling, tennis, swimming, and even modeling for kids and also won prizes for herself. These are a few of her trophy collections — believe me, she’s mighty proud of them! I wonder if she would be interested in joining her school’s soccer tournaments for kids this year and keep soccer trophies for herself as well. June always seems to be the merry month for lovers — let’s just exempt Valentine’s Day. If you ask the ladies what month of the year that they want to get officially hitched. Many would quickly respond they want to get married in “June”. A cousin of mine was not really into this kind of wedding fashion and that she doesn’t really care whether or not she’d be a June bride to her good-looking groom. Her only concern and wish of all wishes is to marry and spend their honeymoon at the Westgate. Wow! I’m quite impressed and truly astounded at what and how she wanted her wedding to be like. It’s like living in a fairytale life. The husband-to-be totally agreed that the Westgate resorts are the best location for them to tie the knot and to enjoy each other during the honeymoon period. They specifically liked the lakefront resort which boasts as a lush tropical paradise that is conveniently located near Walt Disney World. If I had to do it all over again, I’d certainly see myself in this scenic lakefront setting. How about anniversary? Yes, I now have an idea!
